Kenn Monte 9/27/02:
Paul,
I got it today, thanks. It is nicer looking than I thought. Maybe I can play Wes a scenario from
it at ASLOK. As far as layout, the only thing I would like to see a little differently it so segregate the OoBs
a little more. By that I mean like SP7, where the counters are listed, but boxed. With just commas, they run together
a bit and are harder to gauge at a glance.
Other than that, good job.

Feel free to mention something about the quick and friendly customer service; and the inexpensive shipping cost.
Order
today, and plenty of time to go over before packing for ASLOK.

And more from Kenn on 9/28/02 on the VASL Setup Files
Now that is a great idea! I wish all the vendors would so such a thing. How cool would OtO and OV be if VASL setup
files (and the maps) were ready when the products are.

Hi all,
Just recieved
Paul Kenny's Fanatic Pack #1 in the mail. Great speed in getting this out, ordered by Paypal on the 25th, arrived the 28th.
Printed
on heavy gray paper (not card stock), 6 scenario sheets and a cover sheet. The back of the cover sheet has a short letter
from Paul Kenny, an Anti-Tank Rifle Grenade (ATRG) rule and a DYO Walking Wounded guide.
The scenario layout looks
like a blend of CH and Schwerpunket. The historical situation and aftermath are combined (i.e., per CH), and the OBs are
text per Schwerpunket. I would have liked boxes around the individual units of the OB, but this works. SSR then follow.
Scenario
descriptions:
FE 1: A Victory for Early Polish Armor. Aug 15 1920, Poland vs Russia.Uses Allied
Minor as Polish and Italian as Russian. 8 turns, Maps 10 and 46. No real special rules, Poles have 5 FT17C tanks.
FE
2: Dans La Bataille, Pour la Patrie May 17, 1940; German vs French. 8 Turns, Maps 4 and 12. Airsupport, Motorcycles,
Mines.
FE 3: The Border Forts Nov 6, 1940 British vs Italian, 7 Turns, Maps 27 and 31. Fortifications, Airsupport,
Desert.
FE 4: Whirling Dervishes Feb 17 1941; Italian vs French, 6.5 Turns; Maps 26, 29. Fortifications, Desert.
FE
5: Beyond the Call of Duty Apr 9, 1941; German vs Yugoslavia, 7.5 Turns, Maps 11 and 18. Fortifications.
FE6:
Cavalry Charge at Mussino Nov 17, 1941; German vs Russian; 6.5 Turns; Maps 19 and 42. Ground Snow, Mist,
Cavalry; OBA.
FE7: Quick and Dirty Mar 1, 1942: Dutch vs Japanese; 4.5 Turns; Map 47; PTO; Armor
on both sides.
FE8: Soebang Serenade Mar 2, 1942: Japanese vs Dutch; 10 Turns; Maps 24, 37
and 38. Large scenario, PTO, Armor on both sides.
FE 9: Blackforce Counterattack Mar 3, 1942:
Austrialian vs Japanese; 6.5 Turns; Maps 40 and 38. PTO, Overlay x 1.
FE 10: An Abandoned Army
Mar 14, 1942; Dutch vs Japanese; 7 Turns; Map 32; PTO, Civ Inter, Partisan Generation, HIP OB.
FE 11: Italian Winter
Jan 21, 45: Italian partisans vs German and Italian; 5.5 Turns; Map 50; Ground Snow, Overlay x1.
FE 12: Once More
into the Breach Feb 11, 45: German vs Russian; 8 Turns; Maps 4 and 10.
All in all, a wild mix,
Desert, PTO, Snow, Japanese vs Minor Allied Armor, everything a growing boy needs. Only one scenario uses the newer not officially
released in a module maps, very few overlays, basically almost something for everybody.
There are only two scenarios
that the ATRG rule could be used, and nothing in the SSR's that says it is to be used. Question is were they playtested with
or with the rules. Is this rule provided as just a exercise or a suggestion?
This is a should have, only time will
tell if the scenarios are winners, yawnners or dogs, but the value is there. With shipping, $1 a scenario ain't bad,
especially since I used the buy the General for the one or two sceanrios they had even if no other artical in the mag was
about a game I owned.
Hope this helps, looking forward the next set Paul.

Armor now there's a slugging match" Conklin General 6+3

Got the scenario pack in the mail yesterday afternoon. Excellent product. Looking forward to many more from
you. I really like how you have pulled some obscure equipment, combatants and theater's for this pack. I was
getting tired of SS against Red Guards, 82nd and the 2AD. ________________________________________________

I played a few of your scenarios at ASLOK,
and just wanted to send a few comments.
In 'Italian Winter', I was the partisans and outright killed
80% of the German OB, and still lost (didn't use the
no boresighting errata). I got the impression that it's
balanced towards the Germans, those tanks are tough
since you have very little that can kill them.
I hope to play it again and see if I can do better,
but can't imagine it'd be much easier with the big
kills I had in this game.
I also played "Quick and Dirty" and won as the Dutch,
but shouldn't have. I couldn't touch his tanks, though
I sure tried. In the end I got 1 half-squad through 3
residual fires to get into the hex. Afterwards, we realized
that he made a mistake not putting the tank right in
front of the bridge, where I'd have to make a PAATC to
get into the hex. This would have had a great chance of
stopping me. I plan on playing it sometime in the future
to see if I'm right.
